A new era for swimming at Ackworth – September 2027
Swimming at Ackworth School is entering an exciting new chapter. In September 2027, we will open our newly refurbished 25-metre indoor swimming pool, creating outstanding opportunities for pupils to develop their skills, improve their fitness and pursue their ambitions in the water.
Our vision is to establish a thriving swimming programme that supports every level of ability, from those developing confidence in the water to talented swimmers aspiring to compete at county, regional and national level.
Combining excellent facilities, specialist coaching, structured training and the benefits of an outstanding all-round education, Ackworth will offer young swimmers the opportunity to achieve their potential, both in the pool and in the classroom.
Our New 25-Metre Swimming Pool
Opening in September 2027, our extensively refurbished 25-metre indoor swimming pool represents a significant investment in sport and physical education at Ackworth School.
The facility will provide a home for swimming lessons, squad training, competitive preparation and recreational swimming, enabling pupils of different ages and abilities to enjoy the many benefits of the sport.
Swimming is an important part of our commitment to developing healthy, confident and active young people. Our new facility will allow us to extend these opportunities while establishing a stronger foundation for competitive swimming.
